Women Associations promoting social-economic development

Women Associations in Rwabicuma sector of Nyanza district have commended Faith Victory Association (FVA) for improving their social-economic development.

This was said on July 11th 2014 during the event to give cows to some members of women associations at Rwamwata centre in Rwabicuma sector in Nyanza district.

FVA is a Christian Faith Based and Non-governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to providing orphans, women, and minors a safe haven, training, schooling, and opportunities since 2003.

Some members of women associations received cows as a way of fighting poverty

“With help from Faith Victory Association, the social condition of rural women improved,” said Chantal Nirere, Head of women associations in Rwabicuma sector.

“My life is going to change for better, thanks to women associations. I will drink milk and get manure to improve soil fertility,” asserted Jeanne Uwimbabazi, a beneficiary.

“Apart from giving them cows to develop, we educate women on family development, explained Anatole Uwiragiye, worker with Action Aid.

Action Aid International Rwanda (AAIR) is a country programme of Action Aid International (AAI) – an anti-poverty agency working with poor, voiceless people, communities and similar-minded partners worldwide.

Action Aid is a non-partisan, non-religious development organisation that has been working in Rwanda as a full Country Programme since 1997 to contribute towards eradication of poverty and injustices with a focus on tackling the root causes of poverty.

Action Aid has been working since 2005 in Nyanza with the rehabilitation and construction of houses, schools and provision of clean water.

AAIR has very strong commitment to supporting delivery of Government programmes and strategies including EDPRS and Vision 2020.
