For a stable security with the participation of local people, the local authorities and security councils in Rulindo District are doing all they can to settle family conflicts.
Charles Urwubatswenimana and Vestine Mukakabarira is a quarrelling couple in Burehe cell in Cyungo sector that was attended in the security maintenance program on Wednesday the 13th.Feb.2013.

This family has been conflicting for a long time before the wife decided to involve the participation of local authorities due to the husband’s drunken behaviors of getting violent and beating everyone in his presence and destroying household utensils.
Vestine Mukakabarira had decided to run away with her 5 children after failing to bring reason to her husband and harmony in her home.
“We are never at peace and we completely forgot how it feels to be secure” Says Vestine Mukakabarira. “When he comes home drunk, he beats up every one in the family, he spills down food on the cooking stove forcing children to go with empty stomach and has never provided for them. I decided to run away with my children before he kills any of us and now we are homeless.”
Neighbors to this family admit to the fact that the violent husband brings instability in his home swearing to kill them starting with the oldest boy.
“Our neighbors are never at peace with each other for a very long time now. The husband is the most violent and scary who even hates his own children; he almost killed his son once. He is always chasing them while beating them” says Savier Hafashimana a neighbour.
Conflicting families that were visited in the program to maintain peace and harmony in the people were advised on good relationship between couples and taught about the effects such conflicts have on the children.
